AuthoredIn tells me my account is no longer connected, what do I do?

Updated:

When your AuthoredIn account gets disconnected for whatever reason, you will see the following in the AuthoredIn badge:

You can solve this problem by clicking the "Manage connection" button, which will take you to your settings page on authoredin.com.

There, there are 3 potential scenarios:

Scenario 1 - Your account is not connected at all

In this case, you can proceed straight to the steps outlined in the How do I connect my LinkedIn account.

Scenario 2 - AuthoredIn says it hasn't seen your profile yet

Click on the link next to the "Connected to" label ("carla-smith" in the screenshot).

Does it lead to your LinkedIn profile?

If yes, then all you need to do is start using AuthoredIn extension, and it will connect.

If no, then click on the "Connect a different account" button, and proceed with steps outlined in How do I connect my LinkedIn account.

Scenario 3 - On the website, everything seems fine

It looks like your account is connected, yet the extension is showing a red badge.

This could happen if you change your username on LinkedIn. Look carefully! Is that your exact user name? Or has it changed?

If you are not sure, the safest course of action is to click the "Disconnect" button. Then proceed with the steps outlined in the How do I connect my LinkedIn account guide.

What if nothing works?

If none of these steps manages to fix your situation, please file a support ticket, and we will proceed from there.
